Hello world! Welcome to Tisch of all Trades! I’d like to formally introduce myself as this is my first blog post ever! Ahh! So very very exciting!
I’m Miranda and I live in Wisconsin. Yes, I’m a mid-westerner (is that a word?) and no I’m not a farmer, though I love wide open spaces. I know a handful of farmers though, it just comes with the territory. Living in Wisconsin means that I nearly always have a super sexy farmer’s tan in the summer, love cheese, and I know how to drive in 2 feet of snow (well…kind of).
I currently work as an infant teacher at a corporate daycare, and while I do enjoy my job, there are enough horror stories! I’m talking changing poopy diapers that would give Super Nanny the chills, getting hot chunky spit up running down my shirt and into my bra (I’m telling you, there’s nothing like the smell of spit up after it dries…seriously), and caring for babies that must have iron lungs based on the volume and duration of their screaming cries. Many people call me a glorified babysitter, but let’s be real, I know nannies that make more than I do. All joking aside though, as difficult as my job is, it is equally rewarding. I go home feeling exhausted, dirty, and a bit deaf, but I also feel damn good about what I’ve done that day. Ehh, well most days anyway!
Anyways, a little more about me. I’m your typical cliche 23 year old female. Some of my hobbies include reading (one book a year if I’m motivated), cooking (ramen and lean cuisines mainly), party planning (Pinterest anyone?), watching movies (I’m talking the scariest movies I can get my hands on, or getting obsessed with one particular random movie and binge watching it 10 times in a month), nature hikes (if I can get past physically feeling like I’m dying as I’m trudging my ass up the hills), traveling (when I can scrape together the time and money), and drinking frappuccinos from Starbucks. Is anyone else heartbroken over the loss of the Smores and Caramel Waffle Cone?!? Tragic. Really, the only thing pulling me through in the meantime is knowing Pumpkin Spice EVERYTHING is right around the corner. Halle-freakin-lujah!!! In all honesty, I’ve been ready for fall since the the first official day of summer. I’m serious. Also, it should be known that I spend way too much money at Bath and Body Works and I swear way more than should be acceptable for an infant teacher. It’s a problem.
I digress. So, what I’m getting to is that the point of this post is to let the world know that I’m starting this blog for pretty much the same reason as any.other.blogger – I want a creative outlet through which I can share my ideas, wanderlust, frustrations, dreams, and basic day to day life with anyone who is interested in following along! In this blog, I will share my life, my successes and failures, my journey to achieve better health and wellness, my love for cooking and favorite recipes, beauty tips, reviews of different products, my passion for party planning, and my travels. I’d love for you to follow along!
Thanks for reading and Happy Monday!!
