Yesterday it was down into the sixties and even though it was still pretty humid, the dark clouds and cooler weather made me realize how ready I am for it to be fall. Pumpkin flavored everything, chilly weather, sweatshirts, apple picking, scarves. I mean come on! Apparently, the next two weeks are still supposed to be in the eighties, so I guess I’m going to have to hold out a while longer. At least it’s almost September!

As you can see, I’m making quite a lot of progress with the shower! For the longest time I had a general vision in my head, but kept stalling to actually start buying things because I wasn’t sure where to start or even exactly what I was looking for. I’ve been gathering decorations here and there over the past 3 weeks and I think I’m to the point now where I’m mostly done. I’ve gotten everything from TJ Maxx, Hobby Lobby, and HomeGoods, with a thing or two from Target. I’ve been trying to get everything on sale, and have done pretty well so far. Although, it is so crazy how fast things add up even when you’re trying to keep things on the cheap side. It’s moments like these that I wish money wasn’t an obstacle because I would do things a lot different! I’m going to be utilizing lots of different candle holders and glass jars. I’m trying to use lots of different colors, shapes and designs to make the shower very unique, whimsical and eccentric because I want the shower to be a true reflection of the bride. Oh and I forgot to mention, I ordered $200 worth of fresh flowers off of the Sam’s Club website! White hydrangeas, assorted greenery and assorted filler flowers. I’ve never ordered flowers online before, but the reviews on the website were glowing so I’m excited to see how it’ll all turn out. They are being delivered 3 days before so I can get them in water and make sure they are healthy and beautiful by the day of the shower. Now, I think the only other things I need now are drink cups, treat cups and maybe another platter or serving bowl and of course all the food, though I won’t be getting that for at least another week. I am still planning to have everything outside on the deck and in the backyard, so I’m hoping it cools down a bit over the next few weeks. I don’t need to be getting all sweaty while trying to be the gracious hostess right? I can’t wait to take all of these decorations and piece them together into the shower I am envisioning in my head.

2 weeks left!!!!!
