I got back late last night from spending the past two days down at my brother’s in Illinois. I brought my sister along and we spent most of the time helping his fiance with a ton of wedding stuff. We helped organize all of the reception centerpieces, put together the bridesmaid’s and groomsmen’s gifts, practiced decorating the ceremony space and decorated the front porch. You guys know that I love event planning and I can’t wait for it to be my turn to get married someday, but geez it is so much work. As fun as it is to get ready for the wedding, you can just see the stress radiating off of everyone. So much work to get ready for one day!
So if you haven’t already noticed, I’ve been dropping the ball on giving some Monday motivation for the past 2 weeks. I think now instead of trying to get it up on Mondays, I figured I would just throw out something inspirational as I find it. Today I wanted to share a quote I’ve found inspirational over the past few months.
“You have been assigned this mountain to show others that it can be moved.”
How great is this you guys? And how true! I think what I like so much about this quote is that is applies to every single human being alive. No matter how perfect someone’s life may seem from the outside, everyone has some battle they are fighting, something they are struggling with, something they want to improve on, some goal they want to achieve, some vice they want to overcome. Take me for example. I am happy with most things in my life right now except I have struggled with being overweight ever since I was little. And I am still struggling. That is my mountain. Even when I lose all of the weight I want to, I will still always have to work at eating healthy, fighting temptation, keeping up with workouts, etc. Even if I move my mountain, I will never stop having to move it. Everyone takes on some personal challenge in life, and you either show the world that you can overcome it or that it overcomes you. What will you choose?
