With tomorrow being the first official day of fall, I wanted to share some photos from last week at the beach which was perhaps the last summer outing I’ll have until next year. At the end of last week, my sister and I took our niece, Avelina to Pewaukee Beach for a few hours. It was a beautiful day for it too, upper seventies (which in Wisconsin is hot) and sunny. Since it was during the day, we had the entire beach to ourselves too which was probably my favorite part. I loved watching Avelina run around in the water and build tall mounds of sand just for the fun of knocking it over. She also had the best time running back and forth from the water to our towel set-up on the sand collecting strands of seaweed. Initially, I was mad that I forgot beach toys for her, but she apparently didn’t seem to mind. Kids are great that way. We soaked up some sun, walked in the water, and just enjoyed the views. I haven’t been to the beach much this summer, so it was a wonderful way to spend an afternoon.
Pewaukee Beach definitely isn’t the greatest beach I’ve ever been too, but it was nice. The beach itself is relatively small, but clean and spacious enough. It occupies a really good section of the lake and is set right across the street from a line of small shops and restaurants, giving it the feel of a cute little coastal town.
I’m definitely ready for fall to get here, but as I was sitting there wiggling my toes in the warm sand and listening to the sloshing of the waves along the shoreline I was happy for another beautiful summer day. Thanks for the memories, see ya next year!
Hope you all are having a great start to your week!
