Happy Thursday lovelies! I can’t believe we’re almost through another week, it seems like time is just flying. It rained most of the day yesterday, which is my favorite type of day. I ended up being able to make it out for a walk around the neighborhood and later went to Starbucks to enjoy a coffee with my sister. Can you guess what drink I went for? Pumpkin spice frappuccino!!! Oh and it was as good as every other time, like heaven in a cup. I actually brought my laptop to work because my sister insisted on staying and hanging out for awhile, but we were only about 10 minutes in before she got bored and wanted to leave. At least I hadn’t started writing a post!
Today I want to share some pictures from my fun apple filled weekend this past weekend! Saturday, I went to an apple harvest festival at a nature park near my house with my mom, sister, sister-in-law and niece. I’ve gone every year for the past few years, even though it’s geared a bit more for younger children. I always have a good time and it’s usually the first event of the fall, so it’s becoming a tradition to help start off the season. We had a great time taking a horse-drawn wagon ride, enjoying slices of apple pie and ice cream, picking out apples to bring home, and just walking around enjoying the day. Sunday we went to a local apple orchard that I’ve gone to every year for the past few years also to do what you might guess – pick apples. We took a hay ride out to the orchard and picked a bunch of different kinds of apples, enough to fill up a whole basket. Now we have enough apples to last quite awhile, and I’m looking forward to using some of them to try a few new apple recipes! These kinds of traditions make me look forward to when I have a family of my own and can take my babies to enjoy them as well.
This weekend I’m heading up to the Wisconsin Dells with my sister and her friend. We’ll be going to the indoor Kalahari waterpark on Saturday and Devil’s Lake State Park on Sunday and I am super excited!
Cheers to the (almost) end of the week guys!
