Hey everyone, hope you’re all having a great weekend! We got back from the Dells about an hour ago and I unfortunately didn’t get many pictures since we were in the water, but here’s a few! We drove up early yesterday afternoon and after checking into our motel, changed into our swimsuits and drove right over to the Kalahari. You guys, if you are ever in the Dells, I highly recommend this water park! There are a ton of different water park resorts in the Dells, but most of them require you to stay at the resort in order to use the water park. The Kalahari is really the only good one that you can visit even if you’re not staying there. It has both an indoor and outdoor water park, but the outdoor one was already closed for the season so we just did the indoor one. It is so fun! Not only is it HUGE, but there is so much to do. So many different slides, a lazy river, wave pool, hot tubs, multiple kid areas. Oh man, you could spend forever there. Highly recommend!
Anyway, I’ll get to what this post is really about. I wanted to talk to you guys about the photos I’ve been including in my posts. If you’ve been following me for awhile, you may have noticed that I am not in many of my photos. I try to put at least a photo or two of myself in each post, but the truth is, I don’t take many pictures with me in them. I’ve always been really good at taking lots of photos and capturing every different aspect of an outing or place, but not so much at getting myself in them. I have every intention of trying to get more pictures of myself as I’m out experiencing things, but it’s hard for me because I never usually like the way I look in photos. I struggle with having low self confidence and as most people who struggle with being overweight will tell you, they don’t like having their picture taken. I’ve had low self confidence for as long as I can remember, and I’m working on it. I started this blog with the intention of sharing my life with you guys, and that includes the good and the bad, the pretty and the *ahem* not so pretty.
The point is, I really want to try and get better at it you guys. I know that people look to blogs because they enjoy seeing not only what the blogger is experiencing, but mostly, they want to see the blogger immersed in and part of their experiences. At least I do anyway. When I think about the few blogs I follow religiously, I realize that my favorite part of their blog is gathering things about them and their life through their photos, and that I prefer looking through the ones that actually have them in it. So, I’m going to try from now on to do the same. I figure, not only will it help my readers enjoy this blog more, but in 5, 20, or 50 years when I look back at pictures, I suppose I’d much rather prefer to look through ones with me in them, exploring and living life.
Enjoy the rest of your Sunday!
