I found myself needing a little inspiration today, so I found some that I wanted to share with all of you!
“Never give up on a dream just because of the time it will take to accomplish it. The time will pass anyway.” – Earl Nightingale
Anyone that knows me knows that I like to be instantly gratified. I can have unending amounts of patience with certain things, and with others…well, not so much. Although, I think if we’re being honest with each other, everyone is the same way but with different things. I have a list of dreams and goals a mile long, but I find myself tending to shy away from many of them because of how long it will take to get there, or at least how long I imagine it will take to get there. I think though the most important thing to remember when I or anyone is feeling this way is to remember that the journey is half if not most of the fun. The journey is where we grow the most and learn the most about ourselves. The journey is what can break us or make us, make us look at the world differently and look at ourselves differently.
The funny thing is, the goals and dreams I’ve shied away from for the fear of how long they would take to accomplish could’ve been accomplished 5 times over by now. It’s so easy to fantasize about what we want in life, but not so easy to put in the work to get there. Trust me I get it, I’m easily the biggest offender.
I challenge you all to think of a goal or dream that you’ve wanted to achieve for a long time, but kept putting off. Write it down, and put it somewhere that you will see it every day. Then make a list of 3 ways you could start working on that goal or dream. Start small, start slow, but just start. What do you have to lose? Remember, the time will pass anyway and just think, where will you be a year from now if you start today?
