At the end of September, we made the trip up to the small town of Hubertus to spend a few hours at Holy Hill, a basilica and scenic tower at the top of well, a hill. My mom has taken us every fall since we were little, and even though it’s a simple tradition, it brings back a lot of memories whenever we go. I wanted to bring my sister along on as many fall activities as I could while she was in Wisconsin visiting, and this one never disappoints. Especially since you can see the towers in the distance from far away in the distance as you drive up. It really is the coolest thing to see from far away.
Holy Hill is the most beautiful to visit in the fall because you can see the changing leaves on the trees below for miles in every direction. If you’re brave enough to climb the 175 steps to the open air top of the scenic tower, you can get an even more amazing view. You can walk down below through the forest trails as well, or check out the inside of the basilica. It’s free to go and even if you’re not super religious, it’s just a beautiful place to check out in the fall. It’s actually a very popular religious and tourist destination, and can be super busy on weekends, so I try to go on a weekday if I can. Either way, it’s worth the trip!
Enjoy the rest of your Sunday!
