Spring Break Packing List

March 31, 2017

Okay, I’ll be real with you guys here. I never really went on the traditional spring break trip every year. I didn’t head down to the coast and spend all weekend getting plastered on the beach. However, I did always try and venture out to do something during that week off from school, whether it was just heading somewhere new or just relaxing and doing lunches or shopping with friends. Either way, I tried to still get outside somewhere to enjoy the slightly warmer weather. Like I’ve said before, once it gets into the forties in Wisconsin after a long winter, everyone starts to break out the shorts and sandals and drive with the windows down. Crazy I know, but it seriously is really nice weather for us (as long as it’s not cloudy, rainy or super windy).

Last year, I went to Disney World in Orlando (are you getting sick of me mentioning Disney yet? Come on, Miranda pull it together!) for spring break and I’ll tell you, it was awesome. We ended up paying for it a bit with the high crowd levels, but overall, it was super fun to be somewhere warm and sunny while it was snowing back at home. Anytime it’s warm enough to be able to pull on a swimsuit and hop in a pool, I’m a happy girl!

In 2015 I flew to New York for 3 days in April with one of my best friends, but that definitely didn’t feel like a spring break trip. Although technically it was never intended to be. So I have done some traveling over spring break (or around that time), just again, not the whole traditional party – drink – pass out and repeat deal.

Anywho, I still thought it’d be really fun to put together an awesome & affordable spring break packing list for those of you with plans to go away somewhere warm and sunny. Hopefully with a beautiful beach too, or at the very least, a nice pool! I apologize in advance, since I know some of you have probably already had your spring break. Sorry! I had hoped to get this up a little sooner, but better late than never right?

I always think spring break calls for a few bright and fun pops of color, along with a few simpler pieces that can be used for a few different outfits. Pieces that can take you from day to night with little effort. Like this ruffle sleeve blouse or off the shoulder top, which can take you from the beach to out at night by simply adding a pair of fun earrings or some strappy wedges.

What’s nice about spring break trips though is that for the most part, you can pack everything you need in just a carry on suitcase. So rather than lugging a huge suitcase everywhere, you can easily tote along something smaller and more compact, like this one. While cloth suitcases have worked fine for me in the past, I’ve really been wanting to upgrade to a more durable, hard sided suitcase in the near future. I’ve always liked the Samsonite ones, but I’ve also had my eye on this beauty lately, though I prefer it in the champagne color. Usually, I always try and pack everything in just one carry-on since it’s easier to have only one bag if I can. It’s definitely challenging since I tend to want to pack everything in my closet when I pack for any trip, but I’ve made one carry-on work for a whole 12 day trip to Italy before so it can be done!

I also firmly believe that no trip to the beach is complete without some multi-functional beach accessories. I’ve been loving solid color swim cover-ups with colorful tassels or pom poms, like this one. Admittedly, I’m not a huge sunglasses person, but I do really really love the look of the Quay Australia brand because they are so sleek and so well, pretty! Especially these cherry bomb ones in rose gold.

Shopping and packing for a warm weather/tropical vacation is so much fun for me. Whether or not you are going anywhere this spring break, you can still enjoy these spring and summer essentials that are all affordable! Hope this helped give you some ideas! Let me know in the comments if you guys would like me to do a post with tips for packing a carry on!

Happy Friday & have a great weekend!! xo
