Anyone that knows me knows that I love holidays. Each holiday is so fun in its own way, and I get so excited walk through the aisles and check out all the seasonal decor as it makes its way onto shelves. Aside from being a wonderful religious holiday where I get to see family, Easter is such a fun holiday to decorate and plan for. I am a sucker for all those light pastels and bright spring colors. Not to mention flowers everywhere you turn!
Right now, since I don’t have any kiddos of my own, I always turn to my niece. Since her parents both work full-time, I get to help watch her most days and have the best time playing, doing art, and just making her days fun. When holidays come around, I have even more fun with her! Her parents don’t get as excited about holidays as I do, so I love to plan exciting activities for her to bring that holiday magic to life. I absolutely cannot wait to do all that stuff with my babies, but it definitely is good practice to do it with her! For me, Easter is almost as fun as Christmas because there’s just so many cute ideas of things to do with young kids. Creating the mystery and magic of the Easter Bunny, dyeing eggs, Easter egg hunts, and of course – gathering up treats and goodies for baskets!!
I am a kid in a candy store when it comes to this kind of stuff. 2 years ago, I set up a little egg hunt in our yard for my niece when she was 2 and had a blast picking out little goodies to hide inside the eggs for her. Last year, we were in Disney World over Easter break and even though my other niece was 14, I still wanted to put together a little basket for her since she wasn’t home to get one from the “Easter bunny”. So of course I headed to Target and went crazy snatching up a bunch of little gifts and candies.
This year, I have no one to make a basket for so I figured I’d make some virtual baskets for all of you!! Sometimes it can be so difficult to come up with cute and unique ideas for gifts, and I feel like Easter baskets are no exception. Of course there’s always jelly beans, chocolate eggs and peeps, but what fun is that year after year? I’ve taken the liberty of creating gift guide for the ladies, men and kiddos in your life and I’m hoping they give you a few good ideas!
I am in love with every single thing on this board! I actually bought the 2-pack of EOS lip balm a few weeks back solely because there was a limited edition cucumber melon one in there! I literally have every flavor of EOS and couldn’t pass this up, even though I already have the pink coconut milk one. The cucumber one is amazing though! It smells delicious and goes on super creamy. I’m half tempted to buy a few more. I also am a huge fan of the Tutti Dolce Peony body cream from Bath & Body Works. There’s 4 total fragrances in the collection, but this one smells oh so deliciously of spring! I’ve been on the hunt for a good spring nail polish and these Essie nail polishes are the perfect spring colors and would look so good paired with a feminine dress! All of these goodies for her would make any lady in your life smile, though I won’t tell if you decide to keep them just for you! I know I am 😉
I really think that guys are the hardest to shop for. Whenever people ask me to help give them ideas, I usually draw a blank. Maybe it’s because I don’t have a man or maybe it’s because I’m not one…I really don’t know. However, for some reason I was finding a plethora of amazing ideas when I was putting together this post. I think any of these goodies would be great for any brother, dad, uncle, or boyfriend! Mostly because they’re all manly, and because they speak to really any type of guy.
I also have filed this absolutely genius idea away for when I bag a man of my own someday. This is the brainchild of beautiful mommy blogger Jessica Garvin of Garvin and Co. (formerly Little Baby Garvin). She is the queen of holidays, and I draw so much inspiration from her and her blog.
“Cheers, Beers & Bunny Ears” – I mean come on!! How cute is that?!
Even though no one is ever too old for an Easter basket, I still find it the most fun to put together a basket of goodies for young kids. Just another way to make their life that much more magical. You’ll noticed I left out candy & treats, but you absolutely cannot forget that! Even if it’s a piece or 2, you just can’t have an Easter basket without candy! And seriously, how cute is that strawberry plush and those scented stamping highlighters?! Dying. In fact, I might just get those for me!
There you have it. Hopefully this helped give you some useful inspiration if you’ve been struggling with putting together a basket for any of your loved ones! Let me know what your favorites are 🙂
Tomorrow, I’m going with my niece and her parents to a huge community egg hunt and it’s supposed to be really nice out. I can’t wait and I’m sure I’ll end up more excited for it than her! What fun Easter activities do you guys have planned over the next week and a half? Let me know in the comments, I’d love to hear!
