I’ll be the first one to admit that I struggle with motivation. Not so much finding it initially, but keeping it. I tend to get really excited and passionate about a particular project or goal, but I find sticking with it to be extremely difficult. Especially if I don’t see the results I was expecting to right away. Again, I like instant gratification! I hope that’s true for all of you too, at least to some degree. I mean, who wants to work and work at something for an extended period of time without seeing it pay off? Some people do it really well, and use a lack of results to help fuel them forward. But for me it does the opposite, it feels like the motivation flame gets dimmer and dimmer.
One thing that really helps me add a little fuel to the fire are motivational or inspirational quotes. I have always been a quotes kinda girl. I like to search for quotes that make me feel something, and when I do I like to file them away where I can continue to come back and re-read it when I’m feeling down. So I’m sharing 5 of my recent favorite quotes for when I need a dose of motivation or inspiration.
1.Every morning you have two choices: Continue to sleep with your dreams or get up and chase them.
2. Sometimes in the winds of change, we find our true direction.
3. The one you are looking for is you. – Osho
4. Success is not final, failure is not fatal; It is the courage to continue that counts. – Winston Churchill
5. Attract what you expect, reflect what you desire, become what you respect, mirror what you admire.
I’m not kidding, each of these quotes have given me a little boost when I needed it over the last few weeks. I hope they can do the same for you! It really is crazy to think that a few words can change your whole perspective on something. Words are so powerful. Usually I find quotes on Pinterest and then pin the ones that really speak to me. What I love about Pinterest is that it makes it so easy to search for quotes by type. You can quickly and easily find quotes about love, life, grief, travel. Truly anything.
One tip I have for you if you are a visual person – write these (or your own favorite quotes) on colorful post-it notes to stick around your house. On your bathroom mirror, kitchen cabinets, fridge, door, etc. That way you have them around in places your can physically see them and see them frequently. Constant little boosts of motivation throughout the day!
What is one of your favorite motivational quotes? I’d love to hear what help keeps you motivated!
