If you’re thinking of putting together a last minute get-together for Mother’s Day (like me), this post is for you! When I think of a Mother’s Day soirée, brunch immediately comes to mind. Getting to enjoy both breakfast AND lunch foods equals the best of both worlds. I’m telling you, it’s the absolute best! There also is no better way to get a bunch of women together than with a brunch.
Planning things like this are so fun for me! Some people express their creativity through painting, gardening, cooking. For me it’s event planning. I love it more than I can express. Finding pieces that go together on a table, making things look pretty, and designing a menu that goes along with the theme is like putting together the pieces of a big and exciting puzzle.
And since Mother’s Day takes place in the spring, a tablescape full of flowers and feminine pastels is the way to go. The words “Mother’s Day brunch” brings to mind a dreamy picnic with sweets and bubbly mocktails (or cocktails if you wanna get the alcohol flowing!) out in the warm sun, with wind in the trees and vases of fragrant flowers all over the table. Pure heaven.
Planning a Mother’s Day brunch for my momma would include lots of different shades of purple, lilacs, lemon desserts and chocolate treats and of course Diet Pepsi in fancy glasses. Girl loves her Diet Pepsi. I envision almost 100% the exact tablescape in the photo above. Of course, something so beautiful could only be designed by Julia Engel of Gal Meets Glam. My source of inspiration for almost everything! And even though my mom doesn’t get into these types of events as much as I do, I think any mom would love the surprise of a thoughtful and beautiful brunch for Mother’s Day.
As far as some ideas for the menu:
What are your plans for Mother’s Day?
Have a wonderful weekend & Happy Mother’s Day to all you mommas out there!
