I know everyone says it and that it’s probably become the most cliché phrase of all time, but I love fall. Absolutely love everything about it. There’s just something about the cooler air, the changing colors, apples and pumpkins everywhere you turn, and the baked goods that just bring a happiness to my heart. Fall for me has always brought up such nostalgic feelings. Bringing back memories of being a little kid and going on nature hikes to see the the trees changing, helping my mom bake apple pies and snuggling up to a crackling fire with some hot soup at the end of a long day playing outside in the chilly air. It’s memories and feelings like that that make me so excited to be able to continue those simple traditions with my own family someday.
Even though we’re riding out the last of a freak extreme heat wave here in the Midwest (I’m talking a week in the nineties), it’s finally and officially Fall, and I’m sharing my Fall Bucket List! I think what’s most important this year, among the traditions, is to remember to slow down and spend time just being together. Now that all of my siblings are getting older and breaking off into their own little units, it’s been harder and harder to get everyone together. That’s what’s so great about this time of year. The upcoming holidays allow the whole family more excuses to be together and just enjoy each other’s company.
I’d love to know, what are some things on your Fall Bucket List? I’m always looking for new ideas to add!
